Over the past year or so, we've seen some young R&B/Soul singers push their art forward into the future, redefining and expanding what Rhythm & Blues music is. Artists like Frank Ocean, Miguel and The Weeknd, among others, have embraced new methods of recording and releasing music. And now we can add another name to the list of talented young guns: Jarell Perry. Jarell, a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who has already collaborated with various other R&B and hip-hop artists, including Usher, Chris Brown and the producer Diplo, is now ready to make his mark on the R&B world as a solo artist in his own right. His latest step in that direction is the free digital release of his brand-spanking-new album, Simple Things. And yes, it's an actual album of complete songs, not a mixtape or an EP or just snippets of tracks. . Ladies and gentlemen, the future of R&B has arrived, and that future is named Jarell Perry.
